The Council of the Federation Awareness Campaign on Crystal Meth
and other Addictive Drugs

The aim of this campaign is to make young people and their parents more aware of the dangers of crystal meth and other addictive drugs. This national campaign encourages parents and their children to communicate and to access the resources and services available to them in their province or territory.

The campaign, launched during Addictions Awareness Week (November 19-25, 2006) will run until early 2007. Addictions Awareness Week is an opportune time to highlight the services available to Canadians in their home province or territory.

The campaign consists of:

• Print ads, aimed at parents, in national and local newspapers across the country
• Online banner ads on high-traffic youth websites
• Parent-oriented webpage (talkingwithyourkids.ca) with tips on how to talk to your kids, and links to key websites
• Youth-oriented webpage (getthefactsondrugs.ca) with information, and links to key websites
